You have heard us preach about our “quit it all and sell everything” methodology to get you to travel around the world. I guess you don’t blame us – it is exactly what we did in order to get on the road and travel full time (like we have been doing since March 2015). But what if you’re not ready (or worse, able) to just pack up and go because you’re a homeowner? What if it’s not as easy as just selling the furniture, and packing a bag?     Before leaving, we were renting an apartment in Johannesburg, a mere 5 minute drive away from our offices, and as much as it was liberating to sell everything, pack-up, and...

Let me begin by saying that we are not ‘architecture specialists’. The closest that we can relate to the subject, is that all three of my grandfathers were architects, and my parents wanted me to become an architect (sorry Mom & Dad!)…oh, and Stevo’s sister-in-law (and my future sister-in-law) is an architect. That’s about it. We don’t understand the process, or know the various styles that have evolved over time (yes, we’ve heard many speak of “art nouveau structures” and “medieval” or “romanesque” influence during some of our travels) but we’ve never really delved into the detail of it all. What we can, however, appreciate from architecture, is how, in the context of travel, it is one of the most...

As originally seen on Traveller24   It’s been a crazy, wild, unforgettable (and slightly unbelievable) journey, travelling full-time for nearly three years. We’ve done some extraordinary things, and we’ve been to places we hadn’t even heard of when we left on our trip in March 2015. But every great journey starts somewhere, and for us, it was our Wanderlist (our own affectionate term for our traveling Bucket List) that turned our “someday” dream into a tangible trip of a lifetime. Back in early 2014 (when traveling around the world was a mere figment of our ambitious imagination), we decided to write down on a piece of paper, all the wonderful dreamy things we’ve always wanted to do (you know, in...

Update: We got married on February 9th, 2020! You can watch our wedding film here and see the full Wedding Series on our blog here. Nothing can quite prepare you for the overwhelming (and beautiful) emotions you experience when the love of your life drops to one knee. If you’ve grown up interacting with Disney as much as me, and watching luuurve flicks (think The Notebook, Titanic and Twilight) as much as me, and you love LOVE as much as me, there really is nothing better in this world than romance and the day of your proposal (I can probably thank my Mom for making me so soppy too). But seriously. When this magical, birds-tweeting, palms-sweating, crystal-shimmering-lights and secluded-bubble moment...

You guys may remember our Antipodes art project from a few months back…if you don’t, you can check it out here. Although we are still hoping to complete it (and publish it right here for your viewing pleasure), we are finding it incredibly difficult to retrieve pics from certain parts of the world *ahem, Ulan Ude*. But we will not fret! We shall continue and persevere (and hopefully complete our collection sometime soon), but in the meantime, we thought we’d use our own pics for another art project (and we’re not just talking about our Instagram pics), hoping to show how incredibly beautiful (and similar) our world is – at least in our humble opinion. Below is a collection of fantasy...

If you’re like us (and not the majority, who will rent a motorbike and ride down Vietnam’s coastline à la Top Gear style), you’ll fly into what feels like Vietnam’s Las Vegas (aka Danang aka boulevards of luxurious resorts), and take a quick 30-min taxi ride to the centre of Hoi An. Let me warn you – your image of Vietnam…in fact, your image of South East Asia, will never be the same again. What a marvelous little town!     We (wisely) booked ourselves a room on the neighboring island of Cảm Nam at a place called Rural Scene Villa. You can catch a free 5-min ride from the hotel to the main Ancient Town centre in their electric...

You guys might remember our first trip to the Dolomites and the little town of San Candido (if you don’t, you can check out the story here). We caught a train ride from Austria arriving in the small town, instantly falling in love with the area and the gorgeous mountain range (which we, to this day, mark as our favourite range in the world). So our love for the town is there. Our love for the mountains, and the lakes, and the cute chapels is there. Why on Earth would we not want to return, and share this gorgeous place with friends? Why would we not want to take the opportunity to hike around the infamous UNESCO World Heritage Site, the...

If I told you that we’d made 218 new friends in the past 18 months, would you believe me? People from Australia, Norway, Canada, Singapore and Italy. People aged 18, 45, and 31. People who we had planned encounters with, and people who miraculously stumbled into our lives, and now we have them on speed dial (ok, so we don’t actually have them on speed dial, because, well, we don’t make any calls these days, but if we had actively-calling phones, we’d have these people on speed dial). It’s no secret that travel broadens your network and allows you to meet people from completely different walks of life. I guess Stevo and I expected to meet people on the journey;...

Don’t let the headline deceive you. We did, in fact, enjoy Ibiza and Reykjavik all within 24-hrs, but we actually woke up at an Airbnb that morning – the party boat happened a day earlier. Sorry. I just didn’t want to say “Wake Up At An Airbnb in Ibiza…” – not as catchy, am I right?! Ok, I digress. Have you ever actually wondered what a typical day looks like for us? Even if you’ve never read our blog, or you don’t add us to your feed on Instagram, Snapchat or Facebook, are you curious to find out what full-time travel-work-travel-live-love-travel looks like? If not, then you can probably stop reading this post (and maybe go browse our photo library...

As you can imagine, we are traveling on a super tight budget. Any costs we can cut, we will do our best to do so. That being said, though, there are two things we spoil ourselves with in each and every city. Chanel, of course, tastes a local pastry (as it’s part of our Wanderlist), and I, well, I spoil myself by buying, tasting and photographing a local beer. Beer has always been a part of my life. I’m not saying that I’m a drunk, but I really do enjoy the nuances of beer tasting, and with over 30 countries under our belts, we had to unbuckle them somewhat after all the beer we’ve tasted on this journey. But it’s really difficult to say...
