    Czechia / 25.08.2018

Ah, Bohemian Switzerland. The name itself sounds quite sexy – a blend of trendy boho chic mixed with European class. Well yes, that’s what you can expect, but it’s not entirely what you might think.   [embed]https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=iJuCKoyI4cY[/embed]   For starters, the region is not in Switzerland. No. This part of northern Czech Republic, affectionately known as Bohemian Switzerland, owes its name to two famous Swiss painters from the 18th Century, Adrian Zingg and Anton Graff. They frequented northern Bohemia (one of Czech Republic’s largest regions, followed by Moravia and Silesia), and created some beautiful art, which, you guessed it, reminded them of their own Swiss landscape, and for no other reason, the name stuck. Most people visiting Czech Republic will head straight for Prague (and...

    Kenya / 11.08.2018

This past week has been a wild, unpredictable, and unequivocally adventurous ride! If you follow us on Instagram, you would’ve been part of (arguably) our biggest trip yet, as we flew in a hot air balloon, danced with the Maasai Tribe, and did a whole bunch of other typically-Kenyan things in our #CanYouKenya trip with the Kenya tourism board and the team from Expedia. If you haven’t been following along on our InstaStories (firstly, why on Earth not?!) you might not know what we’re talking about, so let us shed some light...

    Brazil / 07.07.2018

It’s always daunting for me to write a blog post about a city that’s been admired, and written about, as much as the city of Rio De Janeiro has been. It was the same when I tried to share our New York experience. It’s difficult to top the writings that already exist. What I can do, however, is praise the city in my own words and in my own way, because it’s not often we get genuinely sad and upset (to the point where we have to give ourselves a little pep talk saying, “It’ll be ok...

    Peru / 30.06.2018

I write this aboard our flight from Cusco. It’s the 25th of June, and yesterday was the 2018 Inti Raymi festival – FYI the second biggest annual festival in South America (after Rio’s glitzy Carnival which takes place every February). The memories are still fresh, and I’m simultaneously editing our Inti Raymi InstaStory (I like to stay busy whilst flying ;) so expect an energetic and (probably) over-zealous post. Let’s start with some history...

    Turkey / 17.06.2018

If we had to sum up our first impression of Bodrum (the elegant seaside getaway in south-west Turkey) we would have to say: it’s been a really, really, really, really, REALLY pleasant surprise. Our knowledge of Turkey is fairly limited – we visited back in 2015 with some friends, but stuck to the bars and mosques of Istanbul, and only stayed for 4 days. This time, we headed south, to where the Aegean and Mediterranean seas meet, to one of the most picturesque towns we’ve had the pleasure of experiencing.     The first thing you notice, is the vast number of luxury resorts positioned along the cliffs and hills. If you’re like us, you will check in to the European resort that...

    Malta / 26.05.2018

When we landed in our 49th country, we weren’t entirely sure what to expect. Malta, the unassuming archipelago, is perfectly situated in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea, just 130km (80 miles) south of Italy’s largest island, Sicily, and 450km (300 miles) off the coast of Tunisia in Northern Africa. A little research was done ahead of our trip (naturally), so we knew that English was widely spoken (bonus), and folks drive on the left hand side – great similarities to our own home country, fellow member of the British Commonwealth, South Africa. We also heard about the amazing food – being so close to Italy, it was really no surprise. But no matter how much research you do on Pinterest...

    Love / 19.05.2018

As the #RoyalWedding is in full swing today, we thought we'd share pics from the first wedding we've ever photographed. Ah, the first (no one ever forgets their first, right?) I say "first", because we certainly hope that this isn't our last (shameless plug: email us to chat about your big day – we'd love to be involved!) I also say "photographed" because this wasn't our first rodeo entirely, as we think back to August 2016 when Eugene and Pajae invited us out to London to film their fairytale wedding at the Westminster Chapel (who would dare to say "no" to an opportunity like that...

    Netherlands / 05.05.2018

As originally seen on Bored Panda   Every year around mid-April, The Netherlands is transformed into a technicolor wonderland, as millions of tulips bloom all at once. The Dutch are known for many things, but their tulips have become a worldwide phenomenon (which is also funny to note, because the tulip originally grew in the Middle East and was brought over to The Netherlands by some Turkish Sultans several hundred years ago). As sniffing tulips is part of our Wanderlist, we set out to capture all the colour during our recent week-long Dutch excursion. We ventured into the world-famous Keukenhof gardens (originally built in 1641 as a garden for the Keukenhof Castle) – not too far from Amsterdam – which today is home...

    BE INSPIRED, Entrepreneurship / 21.04.2018

You have heard us preach about our “quit it all and sell everything” methodology to get you to travel around the world. I guess you don’t blame us – it is exactly what we did in order to get on the road and travel full time (like we have been doing since March 2015). But what if you’re not ready (or worse, able) to just pack up and go because you’re a homeowner? What if it’s not as easy as just selling the furniture, and packing a bag?   [caption id="attachment_18785" align="aligncenter" width="1397"] The famous Painted Ladies in San Francisco[/caption]   Before leaving, we were renting an apartment in Johannesburg, a mere 5 minute drive away from our offices, and as much as it...
