We’ve partnered up with global bike-sharing system Donkey Republic, and flight and accommodation search engine Momondo, to explore some of Europe’s most esteemed cities, hoping to prove that anywhere, anything, with anyone, at anytime, is simply a bike ride away…oh, and that there’s no better way to explore a city than on two wheels. Follow along in what we have affectionately called our #TourDeDonkey. Our second stop: Madrid, Spain The mission: Showcase Madrid’s diversity   Some say there is no city on Earth, that is more alive. Some say it has an extremely vivacious (and flamboyant) spring in its step. Some say, as the capital of Spain, Madrid can often teach the people living there, how to truly live. Well, how...

Our first stop: Copenhagen, Denmark The mission: Find the best cuisine   Often coined as the “food capital of Scandinavia”, it was no surprise to us that our friends at Donkey Republic made food the theme for our tour of Copenhagen. But wanting to make this a bicycle food tour like no other, we decided to...

We have spent the last week in Hanoi – this European-like Asian city – and we’re leaving with our bags slightly heavier (as we actually couldn’t resist the ultra cheap shopping, so loads of old clothes were replaced) and our tummies full of wonderful Hanoinese (hope that’s a word *Googles it* …confirmed, it is a word) flavors. Man, what a crazy city! From the minute you arrive, you get a sense that you’re no longer in a quiet, therapeutic South East Asian surrounding. Uh uh. You’re in the chaos, and there’s hooting and screaming and barking and hooting and radios on the back of bicycle trailers and shoe cleaning offers and donuts for sale and and and….and you need to...

There’s over 200 noted films that take place in New York. Some that immediately come to mind are King Kong, Wall Street and The Wolf of Wall Street, Ghostbusters, Sex and the City, Working Girl and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I could probably dedicate an entire blog post listing the best of the best, gorgeous scenes, unforgettable characters and why New York is probably the most featured city in history. But I won’t. Instead, I’m going to tell you, that no matter how many films you’ve seen, how many times you’ve noticed the Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building, the Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge and Central Park, none of it – absolutely none of it – comes close to seeing...

You guys might remember our first trip to the Dolomites and the little town of San Candido (if you don’t, you can check out the story here). We caught a train ride from Austria arriving in the small town, instantly falling in love with the area and the gorgeous mountain range (which we, to this day, mark as our favourite range in the world). So our love for the town is there. Our love for the mountains, and the lakes, and the cute chapels is there. Why on Earth would we not want to return, and share this gorgeous place with friends? Why would we not want to take the opportunity to hike around the infamous UNESCO World Heritage Site, the...

If I told you that we’d made 218 new friends in the past 18 months, would you believe me? People from Australia, Norway, Canada, Singapore and Italy. People aged 18, 45, and 31. People who we had planned encounters with, and people who miraculously stumbled into our lives, and now we have them on speed dial (ok, so we don’t actually have them on speed dial, because, well, we don’t make any calls these days, but if we had actively-calling phones, we’d have these people on speed dial). It’s no secret that travel broadens your network and allows you to meet people from completely different walks of life. I guess Stevo and I expected to meet people on the journey;...

Our obsession with the Dolomite mountains (and the adorable little town of San Candido) came out of nowhere. Visiting the mountain range was one of the new items we added to our ever-growing wanderlist late last year, after we semi-watched an Austrian show (only semi because we didn’t really understand the audio) about the Bears that have been introduced into the area. That, and this beautiful pic we saw on Chris Burkard’s Instagram feed, had us wanting to visit, so when we spoke to Anna and her mom at the gorgeous Boutique Hotel Zenana, we knew a trip to San Candido had to happen (and soon). So here we were, catching a scenic 4hr train ride from Salzburg (if we’d...

Since departing on our journey over 15 months ago, we have visited 79 cites and towns, in 24 countries throughout Europe, Africa and Australia…Asia, North and South America – we’re coming for you next :). But 79 cities and towns…that’s nearly 5 per month! Let’s just say we haven’t gotten much time to soak up each location fully, but we have however, spent enough time to be inspired creatively. Each place has a different energy, different weather, different customs, different people and different attractions, which all leave a mark on us, affecting our feelings and memories. These memories and feelings can in turn be represented into an art piece. It’s as if the city was the muse. My goal with the...

Half the fun of travel, as we’ve seen with our recent trips through East Africa, Central Europe, Austria’s Winter Wonderland and now Mauritius, is that it’s the people you meet and get to spend time with, that really make the trip. We’ve been extremely lucky to meet some crazy, cool, and creative people during our 15 months, but one of the highlights for sure, has been the recent trip we did with fellow South African photographers, Roy, Gareth, Gav and Scrooch, and the wonderful social media team at the LUX* Resorts & Hotels in Mauritius. We met with the LUX* team (btw you should seriously check out their array of hotels and resorts – Mind. Blown.) for a campaign we called #LUXin4days, and...
