Since it's SoCal week for us, we thought we’d chat to the creative duo behind an epic DIY passion project that has since turned into an aspirational design and lifestyle brand: The JTH (aka The Joshua Tree House)....
It’s been a while since we’ve done one of our “Friends of #HFFH” posts, and today we’re super excited to showcase the ultimate girl traveller ambassador, our (virtual) friend, Nastasia – the founder of the female travel and empowerment community, @DameTraveler. We started chatting to Nastasia in 2019, when she originally reached out to ask if she can feature one of our images in her upcoming book Dame Traveler: Live The Spirit Of Adventure. Without question we said yes, and now, with the book launched and selling fast off the proverbial Amazon shelves, we thought we’d sit down to chat to Nastasia to find out a little more about the super inspiring girl traveller project: @DameTraveler . Interview with Nastasia from @DameTraveler (The...
Hundreds of thousands of travellers each year admire these creations, and appreciate the visions of the creators, not only because each style and each building preserves a historical time, but because architecture is a purely creative form of expression, just like painting, photography, and dance....
We’ve always been driven to create and express ourselves through art. More often than not, it is art that portrays our thoughts better than anything else, so with that in mind, we wanted to support the movement by sharing some of the most moving pieces of art we've seen created in the last week. ...
Let’s all explore Western Australia through the eyes of some incredibly photographers that are lucky enough to call Western Australia home....
Are you interested in traveling the world this year, or when we emerge from the coronavirus crisis? Perhaps you never want to stop traveling? There’s just one problem: how do you pay for this type of lifestyle? It’s one of the questions we get asked most often, so we hope this post can add some value, and help you reach your goal to run a business while traveling the world! ...
This past week has been a wild, unpredictable, and unequivocally adventurous ride! If you follow us on Instagram, you would’ve been part of (arguably) our biggest trip yet, as we flew in a hot air balloon, danced with the Maasai Tribe, and did a whole bunch of other typically-Kenyan things in our #CanYouKenya trip with the Kenya tourism board and the team from Expedia. If you haven’t been following along on our InstaStories (firstly, why on Earth not?!) you might not know what we’re talking about, so let us shed some light...
There’s something to be said about an artist’s evolution. Some artists get into art, without knowing that they’re getting into art – they stumble into it accidentally. Some people don’t even know they have a creative layer (which is of course silly, because everyone is creative, but hey, not everyone believes it). Luckily, with the help of Instagram, a lot of people are uncovering hidden talents (or are finding their lives change) because they have been given a project to work on, or have made a public commitment to documenting something. We spent some time (ok, A LOT of time) scrolling through thousands of images, looking at some OIGs (Original Instagram Gangsters), and some of our favourite artists, photographers, and foodies...
This week’s post’s goal is to inspire a little minimalism. Although we don’t shout it from the rooftops, we are huge advocates for living a simple, yet meaningful life. Since having our epiphany and giving up our work-hard-to-buy-stuff-and-then-buy-more-stuff life back in Johannesburg, to live a save-save-save-then-spend-on-experiences kind of life, we’ve had to adjust, and I mean really adjust. Besides the obvious things like furniture and house cleaning goods (because, well, we simply have no house for them), there are a few things we have actively and voluntarily removed from our lives, simply because we find no use for them anymore. So whether you’re living a 9-to-5 life like we used to, or you yourself are a full time traveller, we hope this...
