    We get asked so often (by almost every single person we meet and tell our story to), "what is our favourite place of all?" Of the 100-odd cities we’ve seen, of the mountains, valleys, beaches and deserts we’ve explored, what is the ultimate place; the one we dream of visiting again and again and again?     If I told you that we’d made 218 new friends in the past 18 months, would you believe me? People from Australia, Norway, Canada, Singapore and Italy. People aged 18, 45, and 31.     This is going to be the shortest post I've ever written, because, well, there is really only one reason why you shouldn't visit Iceland in the Summer, and that's because you have a thing against natural beauty; natural beauty that will lure you in and explode beneath your feet, in front of your eyes and completely take your soul; a kind of beauty that will force you to reconsider all future Summer travel plans because you will want to come back again and again and again.     I must begin this post by apologizing to our regular readers. We've been really quiet (on the blog) and we haven't been able to keep up with the one-blog-post-per-week frequency that we set for ourselves.     As you can imagine, we are traveling on a super tight budget. Any costs we can cut, we will do our best to do so. That being said, though, there are two things we spoil ourselves with in each and every city. Chanel, of course, tastes a local pastry (as it's part of our Wanderlist), and I, well, I spoil myself by buying, tasting and photographing a local beer. Beer has always been a part of my life.     Our obsession with the Dolomite mountains (and the adorable little town of San Candido) came out of nowhere. Visiting the mountain range was one of the new items we added to our ever-growing wanderlist late last year, after we semi-watched an Austrian show (only semi because we didn't really understand the audio) about the Bears that have been introduced into the area.     Half the fun of travel, as we’ve seen with our recent trips through East Africa, Central Europe, Austria's Winter Wonderland and now Mauritius, is that it’s the people you meet and get to spend time with, that really make the trip. We’ve been extremely lucky to meet some crazy, cool, and creative people during our 15 months, but one of the highlights for sure, has been the recent trip we did with fellow South African photographers, Roy, Gareth, Gav and Scrooch, and the wonderful social media team at the LUX* Resorts & Hotels in Mauritius.
