    From family wedding bells in kangaroo-filled nature parks, and boat rides across aquamarine waters surrounding deserted islands, to wine farm hopping and beach dune camping, our trip to Western Australia has been one for the record books.   WEDDING BELLS IN WESTERN AUSTRALIA   Our final stop in the Australian leg of this trip, after two high-class weeks in Sydney, was filled with festivities, quite literally, for days.     Our first true experience of jet lag and homesickness, (arriving in Sydney) felt hugely familiar. From the jacarandas mimicking those of Pretoria's avenues, to the bustle of the CBD with buildings resembling Sandton's tower, we felt like we were back home in South Africa. Granted, the warm climate, English signage, social bar-and-restaurant culture, and left-roadside driving did seem a little familiar. But Sydney's oceanfront and ferry rides between the famous Circular Quay (home to the Harbour bridge and Opera House) and the place we called home for two-weeks in Manly, was enough to wipe all the Johannesburg familiarity away.     One night in Bangkok and the world's your oyster. The bars are temples but the pearls ain't free. You'll find a God in every golden cloister, And if you're lucky then the God's a she. I can feel an angel sliding up to me. The famous Murray Head lyrics pretty much nailed it. Our one night in Bangkok (after two six-hour flights and zero sleep) was a cracker. Yes, we ate fried crickets (see below) and yes, we raced around the crazy streets in a Tuk Tuk. Naturally. Place us in an exotic area, with nothing to do but spot wildlife, and you'll have us occupied for hours.     Inspired by our recent experiences of attending a Greek cooking class on the island of Poros and touring Florence in a vintage Fiat 500, our quest to inspire people to #LiveWithLess has evolved to a little more than us simply telling everyone we meet to read James Wallman's Stuffocation (which you really, really should).     When you hear from friends back home, and they say they're going to be nearby, of course you make a plan to drop everything and head off to meet them! Such was the case with our trip to Istanbul, where we managed to see some of our favourite people, who had all planned to visit Turkey for a sailing-slash-exploration trip. Originally, we didn't realise we'd be stuffing our faces with honey-pistachio-cranberry-pomegranate-Turkish-delight amazingness so soon into our trip, but wow, we're sure glad we did!     One of the joys of using a service like Workaway to travel, is having the ability to explore the area you're staying in, including nearby towns and villages. During our recent month staying with our new friends Michele and Laura, volunteering at The Pet's Academy (where we learnt about dog psychology and pet training), we managed to squeeze in a quick trip to the nearby student town, Perugia. This little Umbrian gem is home to some of the most beautiful Italian structures, with hints of Etruscan, Medieval and Renaissance influences seen throughout the city.
