    Iceland / 04.08.2016

I must begin this post by apologizing to our regular readers. We've been really quiet (on the blog) and we haven't been able to keep up with the one-blog-post-per-week frequency that we set for ourselves. But if I told you that we'd been to twelve cities in six countries this month alone, would you forgive me? Hope so #TrueStory And some of you may have noticed that our website has a new look? Well, that's a work in progress too, and we hope to "unveil" it and shout about it a bit more once it's complete - so please no judgement just yet! Now back to the topic of this post...

    BE INSPIRED / 18.04.2016

March 2nd 2015 was departure day. It was the day we waved goodbye to South Africa, goodbye to a comfortable life with a comfortable salary, and goodbye to the somewhat predictable life we'd lived for over 29 years. On March 2nd 2015 we opted to say hello to spontaneity, curiosity, and a life-changing experience liberating us from everything (other than four bags of essentials and our hungry craving for adventure and need to create). I would like to say that March 2nd 2015 was a good day. It was also over a year ago, which is f%#*ing crazy! I sincerely feel like this adventure of ours has just begun, and we've been on the road for nearly 14 months now! It's madness. But it's...

    Creativity, Entrepreneurship / 25.02.2016

Let us begin by saying that we are HUGE fans of Design Indaba (DI). We love what the brand stands for; we love how ambitious and inspired you feel every time (yes, every single time) you leave the conference; and we love the array of speakers that are on offer each year (in fact, it was this talk by Stefan Sagmeister, that we originally saw at the 2014 DI conference, that inspired us to quit it all and travel the world). So yes, we are huge fans of Design Indaba. We've been attending the conference for many years – this was normally a reward from our agencies, meaning that if we did good work, we'd have the opportunity to fly down to beautiful Cape Town for the world's...

    BE INSPIRED, Wellness / 14.10.2015

Inspired by our recent experiences of attending a Greek cooking class on the island of Poros and touring Florence in a vintage Fiat 500, our quest to inspire people to #LiveWithLess has evolved to a little more than us simply telling everyone we meet to read James Wallman's Stuffocation (which you really, really should). Before departing on our journey, we created our Wanderlist (our version of a travel bucket list) and recently looked at it and noticed how many worthy-of-their-own-limelight experiences were on it; featuring both experiences we've been dying to do for years, and amazing recommendations from our community, that we hadn't even thought of. As a result, we have created a series of graphics that illustrate what you can get...

    Italy / 18.09.2015

Having spent just three short days in this magical town, I can now totally relate to my mom's dream of visiting Florence. It's as special and romantic as the clichés make it out to be, and I would honestly spend all my Autumns here if I could. We first arrived in Florence (en route to our next Workaway), stopping for just one night to breathe in some fresh Tuscan air (and to eat big cheesy pizzas and mouth-watering gelatos, obviously!) What soon followed, was a we-got-lost-and-loved-it tour of the city centre, stopping at the grand Il Duomo di Firenze (holy hell this is a GORGEOUS creation), crossing the unique structure of Ponte Vecchio, and ending up at Piazzale Michelangelo to view...

    Food, Greece, Wellness / 10.09.2015

Our motto and motivation is to "collect experiences, not things". Whilst on our journey, we're aiming to spend our time and money on spectacular experiences, to be left with incredible learnings and memories, not tangible objects. This way, we're sure to keep our lives light without additional luggage, but also be the change we want to see in the world. Our first featured experience is a Greek cooking class at Katarina's Couzina. Baked octopus, creamy Moussaka, and sweet Baklava. These were just a few of the traditional Greek dishes we learned to make at our new friend, Katarina's Greek cooking class during our recent visit to Poros. Upon arrival, we were treated to chilled wine and Briami (Greek oven-roasted vegetables), whilst the head...

    Creativity / 27.07.2015

Spending over a month looking after Alaskan and Siberian Huskies within the Arctic Circle definitely left an impression on us. Using the landscapes of Northern Norway, and combining them with striking photos of the dogs, we created portraits that captured our time there better than I could have said in words. For more of our creations, follow #HFFH_creates on Pinterest and Twitter....

    Austria / 24.04.2015

We recently had the pleasure of playing host in a foreign land. 'Foreign' because we technically have only been in Salzburg for several weeks, (even though we're already familiar with some of the top local spots and secret alleyway gems), and 'playing host' because our friend Ant hopped on a flight from London, and joined us for a week to see what all our fuss has been about. Hope you had fun Ant! Salzburg can (arguably) be called Austria's prettiest city. To our surprise, the old-fashioned architecture, and baroque cobbled streets haven't been hummed out with the modern bustle of tourists, as opposed to our impression of Vienna. Sure, there's tons of tour guides roaming the Hohensalzburg Fortress with crowds in tow, and the grand...
