Are you interested in traveling the world this year, or when we emerge from the coronavirus crisis? Perhaps you never want to stop traveling? There’s just one problem: how do you pay for this type of lifestyle? It’s one of the questions we get asked most often, so we hope this post can add some value, and help you reach your goal to run a business while traveling the world! … … The first thing you’ll probably think is that you can do it all on a shoestring budget, but that takes a lot of the fun out of it. It might be a good way to start (which is what we did in our first year of travel), but...

Mauritius is one of those exotic places you can only dream of visiting. Situated in the heart of the Indian Ocean, its warm and tropical climate is a Honeymooners dream, but there’s of course lots to see and do on this magical island besides just lazying around. Let us share with you our five favourite experiences, shall we?     We partnered up with Nedbank and SAA Voyager recently to explore and experience all that Mauritius has on offer, and by using our brand new cheque and enhanced credit cards to do so, we earned ourselves some miles the entire time (bonus!) And while we’re on the topic (in case you hadn’t heard), SAA Voyager has recently launched the world’s...

Look out Dubai, there’s a new shiny penny in the proverbial town, and it boasts just as much glam and desert deluxe. Let us introduce you to Qatar. During a recent visit to the hand-palm-shaped country in the Persian Gulf, we explored like little puppies who’ve just been let out onto grass for the first time (you know how much we love doing that). We ventured north, south, east, and west (also saw the art piece East-West/West-East whilst there), and we have a jam- (and pic-) packed post for you, so that you’re well prepared for Qatar, whether you’re heading there for the World Cup in 2022, or sooner. 31 Things To Know Before Traveling To Qatar 1. If you’re...

Last week we reached a ridiculous, we-still-cannot-fathom-it milestone. Whilst flying over Vienna during our South-Africa-to-Amsterdam flight, we clocked over 384,400km traveled since leaving home originally on March 2nd 2015. It seems like a random number, but according to science, 384,400km (238,855 miles) is the exact distance between the Earth and the Moon. Travel goals for a couple who left home to see how far from home they could go?! Umm, YES! It’s taken us 3 years and 7 weeks to reach the moon. Sure, NASA or SpaceX could do it quicker, but would they have as many memories as us?! And would they have learned as much as us? Ok…they’d probably learn more…but we think these 69 lessons are pretty...

We are nearing the end of our four-week trip in Portugal’s eccentric capital, Lisbon, and since it feels like we’ve been testing transport more than anything (and one of the city’s icons is a vehicle), I thought I’d dedicate our post to the various ways you can see it. For those of you who have never been to Lisbon (or have never seen images), the city is filled with tiny little cobbled streets. It has that European charm that you can expect from the EU, but what it also has (unlike some of the bigger inland capitals of Europe) is a coastline – a coastline with bridges, beachy pedestrian zones, and sunsets that delve off into the ocean (like in...

This week’s post’s goal is to inspire a little minimalism. Although we don’t shout it from the rooftops, we are huge advocates for living a simple, yet meaningful life. Since having our epiphany and giving up our work-hard-to-buy-stuff-and-then-buy-more-stuff life back in Johannesburg, to live a save-save-save-then-spend-on-experiences kind of life, we’ve had to adjust, and I mean really adjust. Besides the obvious things like furniture and house cleaning goods (because, well, we simply have no house for them), there are a few things we have actively and voluntarily removed from our lives, simply because we find no use for them anymore. So whether you’re living a 9-to-5 life like we used to, or you yourself are a full time traveller, we...

In an attempt to give you a little taste of the course, we have created this blog series, entitled simply, “Things You Need To Know To Travel Around The World”. Our first piece in the series: Learning The Lingo   Perhaps a...

Our motto and motivation is to “collect experiences, not things”. Whilst on our journey, we’re aiming to spend our time and money on spectacular experiences, to be left with incredible learnings and memories, not tangible objects. This way, we’re sure to keep our lives light without additional luggage, but also be the change we want to see in the world. Our next featured experience is a Safari in the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania.   Whether you’re knowledgeable about African wildlife or not, chances are you’ve heard about the mighty Serengeti. *cue The Lion King theme song* It’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the world’s animal kingdom, and the largest national park in Tanzania. It’s home to thousands of animal and bird...
