Today I woke up with an extra surge of energy and gratitude, and wanted to share it with you, because I don’t feel like we’ve shared a lot about ourselves and “our life in quarantine” publicly....

To assist you – either practically, in an inspiring way, or maybe in a lighthearted just-to-put-a-smile-on-your-face kind of way, we’ve put together a little guide to survive these testing and uncertain times. ...
One of the hardest parts of full-time travel, is the lack of routine and lack of focus on our health. Being based at one address now for over 4 weeks has allowed us to change that and put health at number one....
Many of us dream about travelling and seeing the world, but very few of us actually do it. Oh sure, we might find the time to go abroad one or two weeks a year for a short-term vacation, but we are talking about something a little more long-term...
If you’d like to start planning your Mother's Day trip, then you’re in luck, because we’ve compiled a list of great spots to take your Mom...
Last week we reached a ridiculous, we-still-cannot-fathom-it milestone. Whilst flying over Vienna during our South-Africa-to-Amsterdam flight, we clocked over 384,400km traveled since leaving home originally on March 2nd 2015. It seems like a random number, but according to science, 384,400km (238,855 miles) is the exact distance between the Earth and the Moon. Travel goals for a couple who left home to see how far from home they could go?! Umm, YES! It’s taken us 3 years and 7 weeks to reach the moon. Sure, NASA or SpaceX could do it quicker, but would they have as many memories as us?! And would they have learned as much as us? Ok...
This week’s post’s goal is to inspire a little minimalism. Although we don’t shout it from the rooftops, we are huge advocates for living a simple, yet meaningful life. Since having our epiphany and giving up our work-hard-to-buy-stuff-and-then-buy-more-stuff life back in Johannesburg, to live a save-save-save-then-spend-on-experiences kind of life, we’ve had to adjust, and I mean really adjust. Besides the obvious things like furniture and house cleaning goods (because, well, we simply have no house for them), there are a few things we have actively and voluntarily removed from our lives, simply because we find no use for them anymore. So whether you’re living a 9-to-5 life like we used to, or you yourself are a full time traveller, we hope this...
We finally did it! We experienced an entire winter in Europe, and we’ve come out on the other side (just about), having survived the cold! WOOOOOHOOOOOOO! Ok, this may not be a big deal for most of you, but for us brought-up-under-the-African-sun, skin-only-equipped-for-heat, cannot-even-fathom-minus-20 kids (can I still call us kids?) this is a HUGE achievement. Especially since we ventured out into some of the coldest climates on Earth this past Winter, including a little place called Jyväskylä a.k.a. Finnish Lakeland, and the Arctic Circle at the top of Norway where the Sami people live (that’s me below, wrapped up and looking fabulous for -35C). Now, if you’re reading this in hope of some serious scientific advice on the exact clothes...
Warning: this post may induce some serious need to give up animal products, and should be read with caution. It’s been exactly 2 years and 1 week since I threw in the creamy, meaty towel, and made a decision to go vegan. You guys might remember that digital dinner party we had with friends back home, to celebrate my first stint of veganism, and to collaborate with 99 other creatives on the 31days project? Well, as 2018 has popped its head around the corner (happy new year btw!) with it comes another Veganuary (Movember's animal-loving cousin, a.k.a. a January dedicated to trying the vegan lifestyle), which has led me to celebrate who I have become: a Travel Vegan. Now let me backtrack...
We've seen some incredible places. Beautiful places. Places we never knew existed until we reached them and dragged our jaws along. We've been hot beyond boiling and cold beyond freezing. We've had perfect sunsets, more than perfect sunrises, gloomy and cloudy days, and days where the sun didn't go down #gottalovescandinavia We left our third world country and explored the first world. We ventured into regal hotels and slept on the floor in dirty ones. We ate king crab until we were sick of it, tried kangaroo, moose, even whale - then one of us gave animal products up for good. We tasted flavors from over 40 countries, and still can't agree on the best beer in the world. Our world became...
