Chances are you’re looking for your next big European adventure. Maybe you’re interested in some cultural excursions through the ages. Or you’re super keen on trying some traditional cuisine (and well-crafted beer). Maybe you want to go somewhere beautiful, no matter what time of year it is. If any of those scenarios apply to you, we can assure you Prague will completely overwhelm you (in the best way possible). There is so much to do and see in this fine city, and even staying for a few nights is enough to make you fall in love and plan your next trip (#truestory – we’re already planning our return in 2018).

 

 

 

But we don’t feel like we need to convince you to visit Prague. There are enough blog posts and insta snaps to do that already (and if you REALLY need more convincing, check out our gallery of images at the end of this post).

The big question now is: where should you stay when you visit Prague?

Well, you can thank us later, but we have gone ahead and found some of the most unique and most Prague-ish spots in Prague. We even stayed at a couple of them to ‘test drive’ them for you. Now all you have to do is decide what sort of accommodation experience you want, and BOOM! – your Prague trip is happening. So without further ado, here is our:

1. A Concept Home (Slash) Houseboat (Slash) Exhibition Space

 

We’re not even sure how to introduce Port X. It floats. It stands out. It’s a home. It’s a boat. It is an accommodation space, where you can spend a night or two. It is also an exhibition space (if you need an exhibition space, if you happen to be hosting a shindig whilst in Prague…but you probably won’t be, so let’s go back to focusing on the accommodation space). We spent a night staying at Port X, thinking that we had fast forwarded a little into the future – to a time where you no longer need light switches or AC controls, as your trusty iPad can do it all for you. Originally from northern Czech Republic, the Port X houseboat (until further notice) now remains on the Vltava river, a mere 15-minute tram ride away from the city centre, so if it’s modern solitude on the water you’re after during your Prague visit, holla at them.

2. A Former Monastery Dating Back To 1284

 

Sadly time ran out for us, and we could not experience Prague’s Luxury Collection Hotel – The Augustine – but from what we know of The Luxury Collection properties, and what we’ve seen and heard of The Augustine, we can assure you that if it’s a grand luxurious trip through time you’re looking for, you have come to the right place. For one, this hotel is a former monastery, with four monks still living on the property. Centrally located between the Prague Castle and the Charles Bridge, and with the usual luxurious touches, such as in-room dining, full spa and fitness facilities, and the signature TLC concierge service (to plan and organise all your Prague touring needs), we cannot wait to experience this beauty ourselves one day…but if you beat us to it, won’t you let us know how it was?

3. Arguably, The Smallest Apartment In Prague

 

As with most enchanting rentals these days, you can find Hideout Prague on Airbnb. They claim to be the “smallest apartment in town” and when you arrive at your cute little room (because it really is just one room) you will immediately be inspired with its creative touches. It was no surprise to us that the couple behind this cute spot were none other than the creative duo who created Hideout Bali (where we were lucky enough to stay for one night earlier this year). The Hideout brand clearly stands for clever design, fine touches, unique creative spaces, and of course the ‘hidden’ concept. Hideout Prague takes the Hong Kongese trend of micro-living, and adds a European twist to it. We spent 4 nights here and cannot recommend it enough (if micro-living is your thing).

4. A Treehouse (A Little Outside Of The City Centre)

 

Ok, so this spot is about an hour drive from Prague, but if you wanted to squeeze in some Czech nature time before or after your city exploration, this might just be the spot. We (again) ran out of time to try this one out, but tell us we’re going to be staying in a tree, 9m above ground, and you have our attention. Continue to tell us that full breakfasts will be served in little baskets, and we can enjoy said breakfast on our private treehouse terrace, or under a small pergola, and we’re sold. Although take note: The Green Valley Treehouse is only open during the warm months from April until end November, so plan wisely.

5.  For The Beer Lovers (And Their Lovers) – A Brewery

 

No, this is no joke. You can stay at a real-life (active) brewery during your time in Prague. And why not?! Arguably the best beer in Europe (sorry Germany, Austria and Belgium) can be found in Prague, so why wouldn’t you want to stay at the place where the magic happens? The Dalesicke Brewery is also a museum, offering rich history from the Austro-Hungarian brewing industry, so you can now learn about beer, drink the beer, and sleep above the beer at this unique spot. Sounds like the perfect way to experience Prague, if you ask us.
