11 Useful Apps & Websites For Family Travel

Whether you’re a full-time traveling family like The Bucket List Family, or your annual family escapades are limited to a couple weeks or less, traveling as a family is a wonderful experience. It’s a chance to create amazing memories and have plenty of fun. But there can also be some challenging aspects of family travel, and any resources that can help you get organized will be a great blessing. We’ve compiled a list of eleven useful apps and websites to get you started, so sit back and enjoy the read!

Duolingo Kids

You’ve probably heard of the adult version of Duolingo, but did you know that there’s a special version specifically created for kids? Visiting a new country is incredibly exciting for young children, as kids often love to experience new activities and cultures. But wouldn’t it be great if your kiddies were versed in a few new terms ahead of your international adventure? Before setting off on your trip, you might then want to download the Duolingo Kids app.

Similar to the adult version, the app includes lots of games and interactive lessons to help children learn a new language. All of the games are easy, and it’ll be plenty of fun for them. There are vocabulary lessons, challenges, special rewards, and more. Kids will especially love unlocking the next level, receiving crowns, and meeting the animated characters.

RoadSide America

Road Trips can be a great family vacation – the chance to explore destinations closer to home, or perhaps take a camping trip (something we all know Chanel and Stevo love doing). If you’re traveling through America, check out the Roadside America app. The app provides info about all the best attractions along your chosen route. You’ll be able to find plenty of cool places to explore, including Route 66 spots, theme parks, natural wonders, museums, and architecture must-sees. Besides all this, the app offers plenty of road trip tips and inspiration as well. When you’re planning a road trip, this is definitely the app you need.

Pet Hotel Story

Whether it’s a long road trip or a flight you’re on, little kids can get pretty restless when traveling. To help keep your kids happy, download the Pet Hotel Story app. Using this app, your kids can create the a fun vacation destination for some really cute pets – the perfect past time for a traveling kiddo.

With the app, children can build lots of different hotel attractions, create and decorate beautiful hotel rooms, build fun activities such as ski slopes and yoga facilities, and even sync with friends to play together. There’s even an option to collect different animals, which makes this a really fun (and educational) app.

Bamba Airport

The Bamba Airport game is a great app to teach young children about travel. Using the app, your kids can help the animated characters on their journey through the airport. There are lots for the characters to do, from stamping their passports, and carrying their luggage, to finding their airplane seats. Some little children can be scared of flying, especially if it’s their first time. The Bamba Airport app can help kids to learn about the airport ahead of your trip, and allow them to feel more comfortable when it’s go time.

Foursquare

One of the oldest running travel apps (and for good reason). If you and your family are jetting off on a city break, the Foursquare City Guide app is just what you need. The app helps you to find the very best restaurants, plus access travel tips for your chosen city. The app can help you to find all the best-hidden gems too, so you and your family can arrive prepared and ready for a trip of a lifetime. It’s a very user-friendly app, meaning you can rate the places you visit, add your preferences, and then get personalized recommendations. To have the best foodie family travel experience possible, the Foursquare app is a super handy tool.
