Hellooooooo Scandanavia. Gosh, you're a pretty thing. And what a treat it was to start our Nordic trip with 12hrs in Oslo. Lucky for us, the 12hrs included one of the most gorgeous sunsets we've ever had the pleasure of witnessing. After checking in to one of our favourite Airbnbs (with rare-looking blue-eyed cats), we quickly grabbed the cameras and sped down through the city square towards the National Opera House. If anything, I would compare the architecture of this one-of-a-kind glass and stone spectacle, to something you would find created for a blockbuster like The Island. Textured walls that look like Braille, angled glass walls and shiny marble stairs you can climb to view Nordic fjords, the Atlantic, and the...

We're obsessed with Skillshare. We are genuinely and wholeheartedly in love with it. Little sick? Maybe. But it's why we feel it necessary to write a whole series dedicated to the knowledge-sharing-and-soul-inspiring online platform. Imagine being able to break away from everything that's using up your energy (your work, your friends, your responsibilities), and for [insert course duration] you're locked inside a room with a creative genius, as they walk you through their processes, their thinking, and they share all the little tricks they've learned in their profession, with you. Amazing! Then at the end of said course, there's a little pot of gold with your name on it, inspiring you to pick up your [insert creative apparatus here], sending you...

Yes, walking Husky puppies in the Norwegian woods is considered a real job. 'Puppy walkers' exist, and their job description includes taking four-legged fluff balls out daily to ensure they grow up big and strong. It is even more important, when the puppies are being groomed to become racing sled dogs. A stringent walking regime preps the small clumsy pups for the real world, and if the walkers have done their job properly, the puppies can join the larger dogs on sled training as young as 6 months. The length of the walks have to gradually increase, much the same as long distance marathon runner training. Walkers try and spot qualities in the small puppies that give them an idea of...

We're so lucky to be meeting some amazing people on our journey. When we first planned our trip, it was all about the places and experiences. We're quickly realizing that it's the people that make the places more memorable, and really make the experiences. Our first featured friend is Stefan Dahlqvist. We first met Stefan when we arrived in Alta, Norway. He looks exactly like what you'd expect a hip Scandanavian dog-loving musher to look like — well dressed with a heavy beard and 11 dogs in tow. Obviously. What you don't get at first glance, though, is how amazingly talented he is. Stefan has been a dog musher for the past 10 years. He's visited some of the most scenic snowy places...

There's receiving-a-weekly-fluff-calendar-addressed-to-you-from-Instagram cool. There's bumping-into-your-favourite-celebrity-at-your-local-deli cool. And then, there's Berlin. Although we only spent a couple days roaming the inner city neighborhoods, we were blown away with Berlin's ahead-of-the-curve freshness. It's as if the whole town has been painted over with a sleek design brush. Everything from the chic glass parliament buildings, to the intricate typography found on store signage. We couldn't get enough. Our day began with a cultural visit to the Berlin Wall. As children, we only read about this historical site, and it was a surreal experience to be surrounded by this powerful symbol of the world's history. As both our families were directly affected by the war, the feelings we were left with that day, will stay with us forever. In...

    Austria / 24.04.2015

We recently had the pleasure of playing host in a foreign land. 'Foreign' because we technically have only been in Salzburg for several weeks, (even though we're already familiar with some of the top local spots and secret alleyway gems), and 'playing host' because our friend Ant hopped on a flight from London, and joined us for a week to see what all our fuss has been about. Hope you had fun Ant! Salzburg can (arguably) be called Austria's prettiest city. To our surprise, the old-fashioned architecture, and baroque cobbled streets haven't been hummed out with the modern bustle of tourists, as opposed to our impression of Vienna. Sure, there's tons of tour guides roaming the Hohensalzburg Fortress with crowds in tow, and the grand...

These are tiny Yeti Monsters. Some facts about these hairy woodlouse: Schnapps runs through their veins – it stops them from freezing. You have probably stepped on one, the snow is filled with them. They know what you say about them behind their backs, so if you're going to spread rumours, spread good ones. The cuter they look, the more evil they are. When two Yeti Monsters high five, baby Yeti Monsters are made. In an average lifetime, they will spend more time digging than not digging. They enjoy Karaoke more than the Japanese. One was found in the Namib desert. He said he was lost. So was the guy who found him. If you listen carefully, and hear them walking on wet snow, it sounds the same as if...

It's not everyday you get to drive into another country for the morning; at least not for a couple of South Africans. This was a quite a new concept. Chanel: "What do you want to do today?" Steve: "Not sure hey, maybe a drive to the lake?" Chanel: "How about we drive to Germany?" Being only 45 minuets away from our current location, the town of Burghausen, situated in the Altötting district, was the perfect way to spend a weekday. Hopping the border was as easy as driving across the Salzach river into the old town. You are immediately taken aback by the vibrant coloured building in the main square, but then as you look up, you see a massive castle complex dominating the...
