One night in Bangkok and the world's your oyster. The bars are temples but the pearls ain't free. You'll find a God in every golden cloister, And if you're lucky then the God's a she. I can feel an angel sliding up to me. The famous Murray Head lyrics pretty much nailed it. Our one night in Bangkok (after two six-hour flights and zero sleep) was a cracker. Yes, we ate fried crickets (see below) and yes, we raced around the crazy streets in a Tuk Tuk. Naturally. We were actually quite lucky to arrive at 9pm on a Saturday night, because this is the time you get to really feel this city's addictive energy. If you're not being offered ping pong shows (yup, those ones),...

Our motto and motivation is to “collect experiences, not things”. Whilst on our journey, we’re aiming to spend our time and money on spectacular experiences, to be left with incredible learnings and memories, not tangible objects. This way, we’re sure to keep our lives light without additional luggage, but also be the change we want to see in the world. Our next featured experience is a day at the Taronga Zoo in Sydney. Place us in an exotic area, with nothing to do but spot wildlife, and you'll have us occupied for hours. Quite literally six amazing hours, which we spent running around in the rain like a couple of wellington-adorned toddlers, spotting every possible animal we could have dreamed of. Taronga Zoo could...

This way, we’re sure to keep our lives light without additional luggage, but also be the change we want to see in the world. Our next featured experience is a day at the Redbull Hangar-7 in Salzburg. As part of the 12th annual Worldwide Instameet, the Austrian Igers partnered up with Boom Creative Lab and Redbull to take us 30 odd Instagram-nuts on a never-to-be-forgotten Redbull experience. In a double-decker drum-and-bass-blowing party bus, we headed from the Salzburg Hauptbahnhof to our event's destination - none other,...

    BE INSPIRED, Wellness / 14.10.2015

Inspired by our recent experiences of attending a Greek cooking class on the island of Poros and touring Florence in a vintage Fiat 500, our quest to inspire people to #LiveWithLess has evolved to a little more than us simply telling everyone we meet to read James Wallman's Stuffocation (which you really, really should). Before departing on our journey, we created our Wanderlist (our version of a travel bucket list) and recently looked at it and noticed how many worthy-of-their-own-limelight experiences were on it; featuring both experiences we've been dying to do for years, and amazing recommendations from our community, that we hadn't even thought of. As a result, we have created a series of graphics that illustrate what you can get...

Whilst on our journey, we’re aiming to spend our time and money on spectacular experiences, to be left with incredible learnings and memories, not tangible objects. This way, we’re sure to keep our lives light without additional luggage, but also be the change we want to see in the world. Our third featured experience is the annual Munich Oktoberfest. Beers, boobs and bretzels are our immediate highlights, and yes, in that order. Oktoberfest has taken every party or festival we've ever attended, and made it look like a small house gig. The sheer volume of people was a shock to the system (roughly 6 million attend each year), which made us wonder how many...

    Turkey / 06.10.2015

When you hear from friends back home, and they say they're going to be nearby, of course you make a plan to drop everything and head off to meet them! Such was the case with our trip to Istanbul, where we managed to see some of our favourite people, who had all planned to visit Turkey for a sailing-slash-exploration trip. Originally, we didn't realise we'd be stuffing our faces with honey-pistachio-cranberry-pomegranate-Turkish-delight amazingness so soon into our trip, but wow, we're sure glad we did! Our eventful few days began with a tour of Istiklal Avenue in Taksim, the busiest street in the new part of town, surrounded by buildings highly influenced by the Ottoman era. Besides the almost-too-large crowd of 3 million people...

    Italy / 28.09.2015

One of the joys of using a service like Workaway to travel, is having the ability to explore the area you're staying in, including nearby towns and villages. During our recent month staying with our new friends Michele and Laura, volunteering at The Pet's Academy (where we learnt about dog psychology and pet training), we managed to squeeze in a quick trip to the nearby student town, Perugia. This little Umbrian gem is home to some of the most beautiful Italian structures, with hints of Etruscan, Medieval and Renaissance influences seen throughout the city. I was also VERY happy to discover that my childhood love, Baci (the small round Italian chocolates wrapped in the iconic silver and blue wrapping) originate from Perugia, making...

This way, we're sure to keep our lives light without additional luggage, but also be the change we want to see in the world. Our second featured experience is a vintage Fiat 500 panoramic tour of Florence. Have you ever dreamed of cruising through Tuscan hills, passing ancient villas, and stopping only to take panoramic photographs of the beautiful city of Florence, all whilst enjoying the Mediterranean sun through the sunroof of an iconic Fiat 500? Well if you hadn't until now, you probably will tonight. It's...

    Italy / 18.09.2015

Having spent just three short days in this magical town, I can now totally relate to my mom's dream of visiting Florence. It's as special and romantic as the clichés make it out to be, and I would honestly spend all my Autumns here if I could. We first arrived in Florence (en route to our next Workaway), stopping for just one night to breathe in some fresh Tuscan air (and to eat big cheesy pizzas and mouth-watering gelatos, obviously!) What soon followed, was a we-got-lost-and-loved-it tour of the city centre, stopping at the grand Il Duomo di Firenze (holy hell this is a GORGEOUS creation), crossing the unique structure of Ponte Vecchio, and ending up at Piazzale Michelangelo to view...
