We’re here to help find you the best villa for your honeymoon, on the magical island of Mykonos in Greece. Remember, your honeymoon is...
Mauritius is one of those exotic places you can only dream of visiting. Situated in the heart of the Indian Ocean, its warm and tropical climate is a Honeymooners dream, but there’s of course lots to see and do on this magical island besides just lazying around. Let us share with you our five favourite experiences, shall we? We partnered up with Nedbank and SAA Voyager recently to explore and experience all that Mauritius has on offer, and by using our brand new cheque and enhanced credit cards to do so, we earned ourselves some miles the entire time (bonus!) And while we’re on the topic (in case you hadn’t heard), SAA Voyager has recently launched the world’s first mile-earning cheque...
If you're thinking of travelling to Malta (and we know you are after seeing this video we shot and these pics we took), a great adventure awaits you. The area has a wide range of tourist attractions, and the people there are super friendly. But how do you get around exploring the rich culture, history and beaches? This practical post highlights some of the best ways to get around Malta. Car Rental - Best Ways To Get Around Malta The first great way to get around Malta is by renting a car. Hiring a car in Malta will give you the convenience of touring many places at your own pace. Additionally, with numerous car rental agencies, you will be able to get a...
When we landed in our 49th country, we weren’t entirely sure what to expect. Malta, the unassuming archipelago, is perfectly situated in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea, just 130km (80 miles) south of Italy’s largest island, Sicily, and 450km (300 miles) off the coast of Tunisia in Northern Africa. A little research was done ahead of our trip (naturally), so we knew that English was widely spoken (bonus), and folks drive on the left hand side – great similarities to our own home country, fellow member of the British Commonwealth, South Africa. We also heard about the amazing food – being so close to Italy, it was really no surprise. But no matter how much research you do on Pinterest...
We are three weeks into our month-long sugarmoon (you know, that special time after you get engaged?), staying on the island of Solta in Croatia, and in a very strange way, it's starting to feel a lot like home. Not home as in South Africa. Home in the ‘comfortable’ sense. Staying still for an entire month has created some stability for us, it seems. We can explore better (not rush through ticking off only a few sites), and we can act like locals – really learning about where to go for the best beer, what time you can get the best lighting for a photograph, and where the secret (or difficult-to-get-to) locations are, because, well, we have the time. Staying put also...
We have spent the last week in Hanoi – this European-like Asian city – and we're leaving with our bags slightly heavier (as we actually couldn't resist the ultra cheap shopping, so loads of old clothes were replaced) and our tummies full of wonderful Hanoinese (hope that's a word *Googles it* ...
There seem to be two ways to do Bali. You could either get yourself a luxurious villa or a room at one of the the gazillion resorts available, or you can really enjoy the epitome of #BudgetTravel and do Bali on the cheap. For the most part of our 3-week excursion, we did the latter, and we're still amazed at how far we managed to go (yes, that was a little punny pun pun) on a low budget. We hopped around quite a bit, spending a little bit of time at the bottom of the island at Padang Padang, some time in the main city centre of Denpasar, hopping from homestay to homestay in Ubud (that little village featured in Eat Pray...
Guys, we have FINALLY made it to Asia! Bar that one night in Bangkok back in 2015 *flashbacks of eating fried crickets, eeeek*, we have been saving ourselves for this incredibly diverse and totally-taking-us-out-of-the-comfort-zone part of the world, and even though it is indeed very different for us, some little nuances have made Gili T (our first stop) feel a little like home; a little bit like Africa, particularly Zanzibar (which we explored a little less than a year ago). Our trip to Zanzibar can only be described as a dream. We bathed in the most turquoise waters, bar-hopped for happy hours on the beachfront, swam with turtles, and enjoyed some much needed cultural submersion, proving that to all the tourist-focused luxury is...
Have you ever heard someone tell you that the weather is always better on the island? We remember our friend Hákon saying it almost everyday when we stayed with him on Traustholtshólmi in Iceland, and I'm pretty sure the characters of Lost either said it out loud, or were thinking it the whole time they were jumping between flashbacks and their supernatural reality (yes, I was somewhat intrigued by the series...
