    I must begin this post by apologizing to our regular readers. We've been really quiet (on the blog) and we haven't been able to keep up with the one-blog-post-per-week frequency that we set for ourselves. But if I told you that we'd been to twelve cities in six countries this month alone, would you forgive me? Hope so #TrueStory And some of you may have noticed that our website has a new look? Well, that's a work in progress too, and we hope to "unveil" it and shout about it a bit more once it's complete - so please no judgement just yet! Now back to the topic of this post...

    Our motto and motivation is to “collect experiences, not things”. Whilst on our journey, we’re aiming to spend our time and money on spectacular experiences, to be left with incredible learnings and memories, not tangible objects.     Our obsession with the Dolomite mountains (and the adorable little town of San Candido) came out of nowhere. Visiting the mountain range was one of the new items we added to our ever-growing wanderlist late last year, after we semi-watched an Austrian show (only semi because we didn't really understand the audio) about the Bears that have been introduced into the area. That, and this beautiful pic we saw on Chris Burkard's Instagram feed, had us wanting to visit, so when we spoke to Anna and her mom at the gorgeous Boutique Hotel Zenana, we knew a trip to San Candido had to happen (and soon).     Half the fun of travel, as we’ve seen with our recent trips through East Africa, Central Europe, Austria's Winter Wonderland and now Mauritius, is that it’s the people you meet and get to spend time with, that really make the trip. We’ve been extremely lucky to meet some crazy, cool, and creative people during our 15 months, but one of the highlights for sure, has been the recent trip we did with fellow South African photographers, Roy, Gareth, Gav and Scrooch, and the wonderful social media team at the LUX* Resorts & Hotels in Mauritius.     Different from our usual just-the-two-of-us trips, we recently took a Topdeck Travel tour, for a group-travel experience of a lifetime. 21 days, 4 countries, 14 sleeping destinations, and a collection of 14 strangers who have proven that the best part of travel is the people you meet along the way.     Different from our usual just-the-two-of-us trips, we recently took a Topdeck Travel tour, for a group-travel experience of a lifetime. 21 days, 4 countries, 14 sleeping destinations, and a collection of 14 strangers who have proven that the best part of travel is the people you meet along the way. The first country on our East African Explorer tour was Zambia. Thick, luscious, green fields for miles; tropical and humid temperatures; friendly people with lovely faces.     Cape Town holds a very special place in my heart. For some reason (and I think I know the reason now, since my good friend Ollie explained the theory of Earth chakras and vortexes, to us the other day ) I have always felt calm and at peace when in Cape Town.
