So you are planning on going on a vacation, and would like to plan your getaway to remember for life. Well, there are SO many places waiting to be discovered, and it is not easy to pick the right location for your passion, travel style, and budget (especially with the vast number of inspiring travel accounts on Instagram, constantly making you question your next vacay). In case you need some inspiration and guidance on getting started, below you will find a few tips to help make those vacation plans become a reality, sooner than you would expect them to.     The Climate You will, of course, have to consider the climate before you go. If you are a fan...

You have heard us preach about our “quit it all and sell everything” methodology to get you to travel around the world. I guess you don’t blame us – it is exactly what we did in order to get on the road and travel full time (like we have been doing since March 2015). But what if you’re not ready (or worse, able) to just pack up and go because you’re a homeowner? What if it’s not as easy as just selling the furniture, and packing a bag?     Before leaving, we were renting an apartment in Johannesburg, a mere 5 minute drive away from our offices, and as much as it was liberating to sell everything, pack-up, and...

As originally seen on Traveller24   It’s been a crazy, wild, unforgettable (and slightly unbelievable) journey, travelling full-time for nearly three years. We’ve done some extraordinary things, and we’ve been to places we hadn’t even heard of when we left on our trip in March 2015. But every great journey starts somewhere, and for us, it was our Wanderlist (our own affectionate term for our traveling Bucket List) that turned our “someday” dream into a tangible trip of a lifetime. Back in early 2014 (when traveling around the world was a mere figment of our ambitious imagination), we decided to write down on a piece of paper, all the wonderful dreamy things we’ve always wanted to do (you know, in...

Chances are you’re looking for your next big European adventure. Maybe you’re interested in some cultural excursions through the ages. Or you’re super keen on trying some traditional cuisine (and well-crafted beer). Maybe you want to go somewhere beautiful, no matter what time of year it is. If any of those scenarios apply to you, we can assure you Prague will completely overwhelm you (in the best way possible). There is so much to do and see in this fine city, and even staying for a few nights is enough to make you fall in love and plan your next trip (#truestory – we’re already planning our return in 2018).       But we don’t feel like we need...

We’ve partnered up with global bike-sharing system Donkey Republic, and flight and accommodation search engine Momondo, to explore some of Europe’s most esteemed cities, hoping to prove that anywhere, anything, with anyone, at anytime, is simply a bike ride away…oh, and that there’s no better way to explore a city than on two wheels. Follow along in what we have affectionately called our #TourDeDonkey.   Our third stop: Berlin, Germany The mission: Create a beat with a local artist (and get musically inspired)   This was not our first trip to Berlin. We visited it on a brief sweep nearly 2.5 years ago, but our mission back then was a simple touristy one. This time, we flew into Berlin Schoenefeld...

Update: We got married on February 9th, 2020! You can watch our wedding film here and see the full Wedding Series on our blog here. Nothing can quite prepare you for the overwhelming (and beautiful) emotions you experience when the love of your life drops to one knee. If you’ve grown up interacting with Disney as much as me, and watching luuurve flicks (think The Notebook, Titanic and Twilight) as much as me, and you love LOVE as much as me, there really is nothing better in this world than romance and the day of your proposal (I can probably thank my Mom for making me so soppy too). But seriously. When this magical, birds-tweeting, palms-sweating, crystal-shimmering-lights and secluded-bubble moment...

In an attempt to give you a little taste of the course, we have created this blog series, entitled simply, “Things You Need To Know To Travel Around The World”. Our first piece in the series: Learning The Lingo   Perhaps a...

You guys may remember our Antipodes art project from a few months back…if you don’t, you can check it out here. Although we are still hoping to complete it (and publish it right here for your viewing pleasure), we are finding it incredibly difficult to retrieve pics from certain parts of the world *ahem, Ulan Ude*. But we will not fret! We shall continue and persevere (and hopefully complete our collection sometime soon), but in the meantime, we thought we’d use our own pics for another art project (and we’re not just talking about our Instagram pics), hoping to show how incredibly beautiful (and similar) our world is – at least in our humble opinion. Below is a collection of fantasy...

Let me introduce you to @desi.strolls aka Désirée Illsinger. Despite her French name, Desi (as we have come to calm her) is a proud German who has spent majority of her life living in grand German cities, such as Hamburg and Munich. She takes amazing photographs, writes (look out for her first self-published novel coming soon to a book store near you), and is not afraid to hop on a plane and travel to far off places solo…Vancouver, Paris, and New York come to mind.     We met Desi in late 2015 at an Instameet in Munich. We were coincidentally there ticking off number 10 from our Wanderlist, “have a few beers at Oktoberfest in München, Germany,” with our friend Ant,...

As you can imagine, we are traveling on a super tight budget. Any costs we can cut, we will do our best to do so. That being said, though, there are two things we spoil ourselves with in each and every city. Chanel, of course, tastes a local pastry (as it’s part of our Wanderlist), and I, well, I spoil myself by buying, tasting and photographing a local beer. Beer has always been a part of my life. I’m not saying that I’m a drunk, but I really do enjoy the nuances of beer tasting, and with over 30 countries under our belts, we had to unbuckle them somewhat after all the beer we’ve tasted on this journey. But it’s really difficult to say...
