If we had to list all the reasons why couples and families fall in love with Bali, then we’d probably never finish this blog post. It seems that more and more people (of all ages) are choosing to travel to (and live in) this Indonesian beauty, and we’re certainly not blaming them. The exotic weather, delicious food, wonderful blue skies, ample sunlight, and that laid back atmosphere are just a few reasons (we still can’t get those amazing three weeks we spent on the island back in 2017 out of our minds), but let’s take a closer look at why Bali is the go-to travel destination for many couples and families, shall we?     Bali is sunny throughout the year...

Many of us dream about travelling and seeing the world, but very few of us actually do it. Oh sure, we might find the time to go abroad one or two weeks a year for a short-term vacation, but we are talking about something a little more long-term…like a month away from home, or six months, or even longer than a year. But here’s the thing. Most of us will come up with some sort of excuse as to why we can’t go travelling (a few popular ones you can see below in this post). Many of these excuses are good ones; in all honesty, we can’t all go travelling at the drop of a hat. But in some cases,...

If you’re like us (and 99.9999% of the population of the world) shiny skyscrapers and busy city bustle will be the first thing that pops into your mind when you hear “Dubai”. And rightfully so. Dubai is a global city and the business hub of the Middle East – of course it’s going to offer anything and everything you may ever want and need from a metropolis. But what about outdoor lovers like us? Can they…or shall I say “we”, get what we want from the most populous Emirate in the UAE?     Well, during our recent trip to Dubai with The Luxury Collection, we were able to satisfy our nature-loving souls more than we thought we would have…and...

If you read our last post on Ethiopia, you might already be planning your adventure there (and if that is indeed the case, then that is bloody marvellous – pop us a mail if you have any questions ahead of your trip, and don’t forget to check out the Sheraton Addis if you’re looking for the ultimate Ethiopian base to travel from.) If, however, you’re more of a Travel For Experiences type, and it’s less about the full itinerary to try and see as much as possible in the least amount of time, then let us share with you seven bucket-list-worthy experiences you should definitely travel to Ethiopia for. Disclaimer: we’ve only done four of the seven, but hey, like...

We’re not surprised you’re looking to travel to Ethiopia (and we know you will want to after reading this post). Africa is still fairly undiscovered, and being so close to Europe, Ethiopia’s an easy choice for someone looking for the true African experience, some adventure, and an overload of colourful, foreign culture and customs. But where does one begin with planning a trip to the largest country in the Horn of Africa? Well, after an exhilarating week working with The Luxury Collection, we can safely say that we’re going to have you covered from start to finish, and we’re going to answer all your questions about where to go and what to do. Shall we begin?   Visiting Ethiopia –...

Look out Dubai, there’s a new shiny penny in the proverbial town, and it boasts just as much glam and desert deluxe. Let us introduce you to Qatar. During a recent visit to the hand-palm-shaped country in the Persian Gulf, we explored like little puppies who’ve just been let out onto grass for the first time (you know how much we love doing that). We ventured north, south, east, and west (also saw the art piece East-West/West-East whilst there), and we have a jam- (and pic-) packed post for you, so that you’re well prepared for Qatar, whether you’re heading there for the World Cup in 2022, or sooner. 31 Things To Know Before Traveling To Qatar 1. If you’re...

If you’ve ever wondered what time of year to visit Vermont, let us come right out and say that it HAS to be Autumn. The white steeples of the chapels and churches are popping in the charming towns of Manchester and Burlington, in perfect contrast to the nature show of burnt orange and red. The temperature is dropping, coating the Green Mountains with blankets of fog. Wafts of apple cider and maple syrup (ALL the maple syrup) fill the air around the cute stops on the side of the road (which are all dressed up for the Halloween festivities). Does it get any more quaint (or picturesque) than that?     Renting a car should be mandatory, because there’s really...

This past week has been a wild, unpredictable, and unequivocally adventurous ride! If you follow us on Instagram, you would’ve been part of (arguably) our biggest trip yet, as we flew in a hot air balloon, danced with the Maasai Tribe, and did a whole bunch of other typically-Kenyan things in our #CanYouKenya trip with the Kenya tourism board and the team from Expedia. If you haven’t been following along on our InstaStories (firstly, why on Earth not?!) you might not know what we’re talking about, so let us shed some light… We’ve been excited to share the best that Kenya has to offer, with our incredible always-hungry-for-travel community. We wanted to find a way to get our community involved...

When we landed in our 49th country, we weren’t entirely sure what to expect. Malta, the unassuming archipelago, is perfectly situated in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea, just 130km (80 miles) south of Italy’s largest island, Sicily, and 450km (300 miles) off the coast of Tunisia in Northern Africa. A little research was done ahead of our trip (naturally), so we knew that English was widely spoken (bonus), and folks drive on the left hand side – great similarities to our own home country, fellow member of the British Commonwealth, South Africa. We also heard about the amazing food – being so close to Italy, it was really no surprise. But no matter how much research you do on...
