Background

Kenya Tourism and Expedia wanted an interactive campaign lead by a digital marketing strategy that showed off the diversity of beautiful Kenya, raised awareness, and targeted travellers searching for their next African adventure.

Overview

#CanYouKenya was born from a great relationship between @howfarfromhome and Expedia, devising a week-long campaign where two enthusiastic travellers set off across Kenya partnering the best experiences against each other.

 

@howfarfromhome’s community would vote on what they should do next – a digital marketing strategy that had not been executed like this before. The community would vote for the experience they’d want @howfarfromhome to do e.g. “Meeting Orphaned Elephants” vs. ”Feeding Hungry Giraffes” using the poll mechanic on Instagram Stories, and the next day their wish was unfolded before their eyes. The community chose the best of Kenya, and it was shown to them – all in real time.
