19 Sep Fiat 500 Tour Of Florence
Our motto and motivation is to “collect experiences, not things”. Whilst on our journey, we’re aiming to spend our time and money on spectacular experiences, to be left with incredible learnings and memories, not tangible objects. This way, we’re sure to keep our lives light without additional luggage, but also be the change we want to see in the world.
Our second featured experience is a vintage Fiat 500 panoramic tour of Florence.
Have you ever dreamed of cruising through Tuscan hills, passing ancient villas, and stopping only to take panoramic photographs of the beautiful city of Florence, all whilst enjoying the Mediterranean sun through the sunroof of an iconic Fiat 500? Well if you hadn’t until now, you probably will tonight. It’s definitely been something we’ve wanted to do, which is why we thanked our lucky stars when we were able to experience this unforgettable Italian treat.
Our first trip to Florence was short and sweet, and all done by foot. Which is why, when we returned to Florence, we chose to explore this magical Italian city the only way it really should be explored – in a vintage 1967 Fiat 500.
Familiarizing himself with vintage gear change, and the reality of how small the car really is, Stevo first drove us outside of the city centre, where we bumped into @Klecker1 – one of the amazing HFFH community members who spotted us doing our thing, and came over to say hello (wow we live in a small world!) After a quick panoramic snap of the view of the entire city of Florence, we hopped back into our vintage mobile and cruised down to land up at the Piazzale Michelangelo, where we went back in time, hearing about Italian tales of the Medici family and the historic monuments we could see before us. Then, mastering the braking on my second attempt, I got behind the wheel and drove us up to the San Miniato al Monte to take a spiritual walk inside.
Our tour ended with Stevo “Marky-Mark” Dirnberger taking a tight-alley race through the city centre á la Italian Job (except we were one step ahead, enjoying Italian brevity in a real Italian beast). A massive thanks to our guide, Eduardo – we will never look at Florence in the same light, and I promise to wipe my drool off the almost-non-existent dashboard next time.
If you’ve just read this and can already feel the Tuscan wind blowing through your hair, you can contact the guys at ItalyXP through their site, or find them on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter to chat. Be warned though: driving the streets in the Italian oldie will have passers by jumping in front of your moving vehicle to snap a shot, so keep it slow, lift your hand, and practice the Queen’s wave whilst smiling with glee.

Posted at 15:11h, 19 SeptemberHey guys! (Or is it Chanel that wrote this?)
I came across HFFH after you were featured in AdWeek last month. I’ve recently got my first break as a junior copywriter. I’m telling you this because I LOVE the fact that you guys had the audacity to drop everything, get out there and explore, soaking all the beauty that traveling has to offer.
I hope to eventually cover as many countries as possible. The only thing that’s holding me back right now is work – I want to work my a*s off and win awards, make a name for myself. With that said, I’m still young so I guess I’ve got time on my hands.
But until I get the chance to roam the world, keep inspiring me with your terrific tales of travel. Happy journeys 🙂

Posted at 16:20h, 19 SeptemberBrilliant! Thanks for reaching out Karan! And yes – keep working your butt off. We owe everything we know to the last 8 years of our lives spent working very hard in advertising & branding. It’s tough but a great foundation for creative thinking. Keep at it…and then come join us traveling around the world 😉

Posted at 09:44h, 21 SeptemberGreat shots as usual. Louise would love a 500, I would only have an original though. To have a guide did you use two cars or all three of you squeeze into the one? Definitely something we will look up when we are back in Florence 🙂

Posted at 09:19h, 24 SeptemberBrilliant! Yes you must 🙂 The guide normally rides a scooter in front, and you get to drive the Fiat, but on the day we went it rained, so the guide came in the car with us, and squeezed in the back with our bags, haha. I’m sure the guys at ItalyXP can accommodate you either way, so just give them a shout!
