23 Feb 5 Of Bali’s Most Instagrammable Accommodation
There’s few places in the world that are synonymous with paradise; pure, uninhabited, postcard-perfect paradise. If you say “Bali” to pretty much anyone, visions of sultry jungle-like resorts, crystal blue waters and endless cocktail menus (and/or yoga studios) come to mind. To some (mostly those stressed and tired of hustling city living), this is the perfect paradise.
We mentioned earlier this week that there’s mainly two ways to travel through Bali – either on the cheap (which we did for a few weeks) or you travel through Bali the way you’d travel if you were on an endless honeymoon, lounging around in exquisite villas, enjoying the ultimate me-time, down-time and sexy-time.
We were fortunate enough to visit five of Bali’s most Instagrammable accommodations for breakfast in bed, Balinese massages for Valentine’s celebrations, and lazy days of sun bathing and Ubuding*.
*if you read our last post, you would know that “Ubuding” is a verb we created after enjoying the sweet act of doing nothing in Bali’s beautiful Ubud.
If you are indeed looking for a little pampering and luxury, or simply looking to get off the grid to enjoy your time with Balinese nature, have your pick from these five sensational spots:
Jungleroom Bali
What you can expect:
Jungleroom Bali aka Bungalow heaven aka self-proclaimed antique village with raw tropical vibes, offers you five luxurious and completely unique wooden houses to choose from. The Bungalows were shipped from various islands around Indonesia – some aging back to the early 1900s – and each offer their own design and charm, both inside and out. The cafe on the property serves the most delicious all-day health breakfasts, and if you’re awake at 9am you can join the free daily yoga class upstairs in the common room, Big Karo (filled with instruments, boardgames, beanbags and occasional art exhibitions). Smartly-placed Bose speakers around the property ensure you’ll always feel the groove of this Canggu-based Airbnb, and you will want nothing more than to enjoy the hot days in the pool, eating the freshly made vegan banana ice-cream…but if you prefer to eat your ice-cream out the pool, you have hammocks, loungers, hanging eggs and beanbags scattered all around the property to choose from. If you’re planning a surfer’s retreat at the nearby Batu Bolong Beach, make Jungleroom Bali your resting spot.
Why you simply have to go:
Besides the smoothies and ice cream, you may want to hop around to stay in the different Bungalows, because each is so beautifully designed and decorated and offers a completely different experience.

Bisma Eight
What you can expect:
One of the most luxurious and exquisite resorts we’ve ever had the pleasure of experiencing…and that includes all our travels through 36 countries. Bisma Eight’s placement is perfect, just a quick 2-min scoot away from the Ubud centre, but if you’re anything like us, you’ll spend more time within the resort during your stay, simply because it is so beautiful and there is so much to do. Complimentary Balinese cooking classes (with ingredients from the nearby Bisma Gardens), yoga sessions, and a gorgeously-lit library cross coffee shop will make you feel complete, and after running yourself a bath in the canopy suite’s one-of-a-kind wine barrel bath tub (which takes 45-min to fill up – luckily Bali has no shortage of water) you’ll only consider leaving to go to the award-winning restaurant upstairs for cuisine that will leave you as euphoric as the soak in the tub.
Why you simply have to go:
Don’t think we could sum it up better, than to say Bisma Eight is simply a gift you can keep giving yourself over and over and over again. Staying here will make your soul happy.

Hideout Bali
What you can expect:
At first you’ll think you’re lost. Looking for Hideout Bali with your taxi driver will feel like an adventure, because there will be very little signage and with only jungles, rice paddies and the magical view of Gunung Agung volcano in the distance, you’ll be magically surprised when you discover what Ali and Jarmil (an incredibly creative and eco-centric couple from Czech Republic) have created in the space of two short years. Booked out until October 2017 already, this Airbnb is unlike anything you’ll experience. The signature triangular window and completely-made-of-bamboo structure will quickly convert you into an off-the-grid local (simply because you’ll never want to leave). The bamboo house welcomes you with a bowl full of fruit from the trees in the, um, garden, a powerful sound system to keep you company, board games, beer and instruments to keep you entertained, and an outdoor bathroom which will make you question ever showering indoors again. And even though it will feel like you are the only people on Earth when you stay here, you can, at any point, have guides and masseuses visit you to show you around the area, or to give you a massage right there inside your cosy house (the masseuse will be doing the massaging of course, not the guide).
Why you simply have to go:
If you’re looking for the most unique and remote location in Bali (and cuddles from the owners’ insanely cute cat), surrounded by nothing but nature, you’ve found your spot.

Padma Resort Ubud
What you can expect:
There’s many reasons to visit Padma, but I’m going to touch on only two. Firstly, if you’ve been searching your whole life for the ultimate infinity pool, you need search no more. Stretching across the entire resort’s width, offering a bar, views of the bamboo and palm forests below, and a secret mini-me infinity section which you can have all to yourself on a quiet day, we couldn’t get out of it (even when it started raining – common during the rainy season). Secondly, the resort’s spa holds surprises around every corner, and could be one of the most magical ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day or any “Day” for that matter – hell, I’d like to invent a Treat Me Day, Soak In Petals Day or Rub Me Like You Did At Padma Day because all would be relevant.
Why you simply have to go:
Our couple spa treatment was unlike anything we’d every experienced, so if it’s a special 2.5hr experience you’re looking for with your better half, choose Padma.

Goya Boutique Resort
What you can expect:
If it’s sunny days, filled with the most sweet and colorful mocktail juices, lazy lounging either on giant cushions in the pool or on loungers-made-for-two, surreal jungle views beyond the infinity pool, and dining below a private gazebo overlooking the sultry Balinese sunset you’re after, then Goya is for you. Although our time at the resort was short, we managed to fall in love with it almost instantly. Our romantic dinner was accompanied by magical Balinese dancers from the local orphanage, and even though Goya is positioned so close to the Main Street in Ubud, the long and lush avenue you walk along inside the resort, will make you feel like you’re a million miles away from any chaos.
Why you simply have to go:
You probably can’t beat the photos and sheer joy you’ll get when lying on the giant cushions in the infinity pool, overlooking the wild jungles below.
