There seem to be two ways to do Bali. You could either get yourself a luxurious villa or a room at one of the the gazillion resorts available, or you can really enjoy the epitome of #BudgetTravel and do Bali on the cheap. For the most part of our 3-week excursion, we did the latter, and we're still amazed at how far we managed to go (yes, that was a little punny pun pun) on a low budget.     We hopped around quite a bit, spending a little bit of time at the bottom of the island at Padang Padang, some time in the main city centre of Denpasar, hopping from homestay to homestay in Ubud (that little village featured in Eat Pray...

Guys, we have FINALLY made it to Asia! Bar that one night in Bangkok back in 2015 *flashbacks of eating fried crickets, eeeek*, we have been saving ourselves for this incredibly diverse and totally-taking-us-out-of-the-comfort-zone part of the world, and even though it is indeed very different for us, some little nuances have made Gili T (our first stop) feel a little like home; a little bit like Africa, particularly Zanzibar (which we explored a little less than a year ago). Our trip to Zanzibar can only be described as a dream. We bathed in the most turquoise waters, bar-hopped for happy hours on the beachfront, swam with turtles, and enjoyed some much needed cultural submersion, proving that to all the tourist-focused luxury is...

Have you ever heard someone tell you that the weather is always better on the island? We remember our friend Hákon saying it almost everyday when we stayed with him on Traustholtshólmi in Iceland, and I'm pretty sure the characters of Lost either said it out loud, or were thinking it the whole time they were jumping between flashbacks and their supernatural reality (yes, I was somewhat intrigued by the series...

    Mauritius / 23.05.2016

Half the fun of travel, as we’ve seen with our recent trips through East Africa, Central Europe, Austria's Winter Wonderland and now Mauritius, is that it’s the people you meet and get to spend time with, that really make the trip. We’ve been extremely lucky to meet some crazy, cool, and creative people during our 15 months, but one of the highlights for sure, has been the recent trip we did with fellow South African photographers, Roy, Gareth, Gav and Scrooch, and the wonderful social media team at the LUX* Resorts & Hotels in Mauritius. We met with the LUX* team (btw you should seriously check out their array of hotels and resorts - Mind. Blown.) for a campaign we called #LUXin4days, and we explored this...

Our motto and motivation is to “collect experiences, not things”. Whilst on our journey, we’re aiming to spend our time and money on spectacular experiences, to be left with incredible learnings and memories, not tangible objects. This way, we’re sure to keep our lives light without additional luggage, but also be the change we want to see in the world. Our next featured experience is the Topdeck Travel tour, East African Explorer. This was our third taste of group travel, so one could say we are slowly growing out of the 'Group-Travel Novice' status, after the 17-day European excursion late last year, and now this trip – something a little closer to home, and something a little more adventurous. Tanzania / 27.04.2016

Different from our usual just-the-two-of-us trips, we recently took a Topdeck Travel tour, for a group-travel experience of a lifetime. 21 days, 4 countries, 14 sleeping destinations, and a collection of 14 strangers who have proven that the best part of travel is the people you meet along the way. The next stop on our East African Explorer tour was the beautiful island of Zanzibar. If you wanted to explore a place that offered you white sand beaches, turquoise waters, exotic food (mostly vegan, so double yay from me), and a city full of history and culture, then you are reading the perfect blog post. The island of Zanzibar is, quite honestly, one of the most unique places we've ever visited. With its Arab and East African...

    Greece / 26.08.2015

I recall waking up at 6am to the sound of cicadas on a nearby island. Opening my eyes, I saw perfectly blue skies, and felt morning dew on my feet. I looked over at Stevo lying next to me, and realized that we had just spent our first night on a sailing boat, drifting gently to the wake of the Aegean Sea. This was the first of four nights we would spend on Naziara, the floating vessel we would temporarily call home. In an attempt to tick off number 7 from our Wanderlist, (sail through the Greek isles), we visited our friends from Live-Bio to enjoy three beautiful weeks exploring the Peloponnese. From 40 degree walks through olive groves, and sunset yoga classes on the...
