Ah, Bohemian Switzerland. The name itself sounds quite sexy – a blend of trendy boho chic mixed with European class. Well yes, that’s what you can expect, but it’s not entirely what you might think.   [embed]https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=iJuCKoyI4cY[/embed]   For starters, the region is not in Switzerland. No. This part of northern Czech Republic, affectionately known as Bohemian Switzerland, owes its name to two famous Swiss painters from the 18th Century, Adrian Zingg and Anton Graff. They frequented northern Bohemia (one of Czech Republic’s largest regions, followed by Moravia and Silesia), and created some beautiful art, which, you guessed it, reminded them of their own Swiss landscape, and for no other reason, the name stuck. Most people visiting Czech Republic will head straight for Prague (and...

Warning: this post may induce some serious need to give up animal products, and should be read with caution.   It’s been exactly 2 years and 1 week since I threw in the creamy, meaty towel, and made a decision to go vegan. You guys might remember that digital dinner party we had with friends back home, to celebrate my first stint of veganism, and to collaborate with 99 other creatives on the 31days project? Well, as 2018 has popped its head around the corner (happy new year btw!) with it comes another Veganuary (Movember's animal-loving cousin, a.k.a. a January dedicated to trying the vegan lifestyle), which has led me to celebrate who I have become: a Travel Vegan. Now let me backtrack...

It’s safe to say that we’ve spent more time in Auckland than any other city on our travels. It wasn’t planned - it just happened to work out that way…and a lot can happen in 8 weeks, so I’m going to try summarise our adventure, as best as I can. Here goes! We spent the first six weeks looking after an amazing German Shepherd named Maddie (we miss you already Maddie <3), while her owner was away on holiday, allowing us the opportunity to live in Western Auckland in the Waitakere Regional Park (a.k.a The Waitak’s, as it’s known by the locals) for free - side note: the home was INCREDIBLE and we honestly felt like we’d struck house-sitter gold – a...

Let me start off by saying that animal portraiture is a lot harder than it looks. We knew this from the many hours we spent 'dog stalking' back home at some of  Johannesburg's many parks. Anyone remember @PixelPaws on Instagram? Yes, that was our first 'shot' at moving-target photography. We literally have thousands of dog portraits on our hard drive, so we should look at sharing more of those...

Home to the Union Jack, Queen Elizabeth's guards, (currently) the world's largest Ferris wheel, and the original underground train line, London, let me just say, is on a completely different level. This was not our first trip to London. We galavanted through the British streets back in 2012, on a Eurotrip that inspired us to come back to Europe. It was pleasant to see that not much has changed in three years, and, if anything, London has gotten more beautiful. We were lucky to visit the European Instagram headquarters on this trip, to have lunch with some of the world's coolest and smartest people (they really are). The offices too were (unsurprisingly) fabulous - with game rooms, nap pods and a sweet...

Our motto and motivation is to “collect experiences, not things”. Whilst on our journey, we’re aiming to spend our time and money on spectacular experiences, to be left with incredible learnings and memories, not tangible objects. This way, we’re sure to keep our lives light without additional luggage, but also be the change we want to see in the world. Our next featured experience is a day at the Taronga Zoo in Sydney. Place us in an exotic area, with nothing to do but spot wildlife, and you'll have us occupied for hours. Quite literally six amazing hours, which we spent running around in the rain like a couple of wellington-adorned toddlers, spotting every possible animal we could have dreamed of. Taronga Zoo could...

Our motto and motivation is to "collect experiences, not things". Whilst on our journey, we're aiming to spend our time and money on spectacular experiences, to be left with incredible learnings and memories, not tangible objects. This way, we're sure to keep our lives light without additional luggage, but also be the change we want to see in the world. Our first featured experience is a Greek cooking class at Katarina's Couzina. Baked octopus, creamy Moussaka, and sweet Baklava. These were just a few of the traditional Greek dishes we learned to make at our new friend, Katarina's Greek cooking class during our recent visit to Poros. Upon arrival, we were treated to chilled wine and Briami (Greek oven-roasted vegetables), whilst the head...

Give me an option to shoot one photo to hang up above our imaginary fireplace in our imaginary home, and it will be a person silhouetted against any dramatic 'scape (land, sea or sky) with soft early morning sunlight illuminating the fog around them. The adventure silhouette is my weakness. If done properly, the viewer is left almost speechless, and is itching to get out there to do the same. I think the main reason these photos are so alluring, is because they create such magical and fantastical scenes; more than just a portrait of a person in the outdoors. They represent the relationship between humans and the untamed wild. They are the cover photos of the adventure photography page. So, what's the...

The age-old fray stands – you get people who love dogs, and you get people who love cats. We, proudly, are the former and will stop at nothing to get ourselves in front of the friendly, wagging slobberers. Lucky for us (and the Internet), dog photography has picked up dramatically in the past couple of years, and with it a string of creative pet owners and photo curators. Instagram itself has taken a giant pounce towards supporting furry models with their #WeeklyFluff insert every Monday, and with hashtags like "dog" and "dogsofinstagram" reaching over a hundred million tags, it's no wonder dogs and their humans are getting dressed up for the occasion. With such a rise in well-timed pooch photography, our quest for...
