Cape Town holds a very special place in my heart. For some reason (and I think I know the reason now, since my good friend Ollie explained the theory of Earth chakras and vortexes, to us the other day ) I have always felt calm and at peace when in Cape Town. It's bizarre, especially because, of the seven trips I've done to Cape Town, six have been for work, so memories of calmness and tranquility shouldn't be associated with this city, yet somehow there's an energy here that simply leaves me feeling amazing. This city is truly world-class in terms of activities, things to see and do, and of course for photography and videography, so we thought we'd take this...

Our motto and motivation is to “collect experiences, not things”. Whilst on our journey, we’re aiming to spend our time and money on spectacular experiences, to be left with incredible learnings and memories, not tangible objects. This way, we’re sure to keep our lives light without additional luggage, but also be the change we want to see in the world. Our next featured experience is a visit to the Two Oceans Aquarium in Cape Town. As I'm sure you've gathered, we LOVE animals; furry ones, fluffy ones, slippery ones, and ones that can imitate other ones. I think my childhood dream (a long, long time ago) was to become a marine biologist...

    Germany / 08.02.2016

I am going to make you want to visit Southern Germany in Winter. I'm normally quite neutral, sharing our travel stories with a gleam of hope that it'll inspire you to go there too and create your own memories, but I never say "book soon" or "you have to go before you die". Well this post is different. You are going to want to book soon, and I highly recommend you go before you die. Let's begin with this shot I took on the first day of our road trip (probably my favourite photo to date - tough call, I know...

    Food, Wellness / 01.02.2016

Ever since 2013, people from all over the world have been celebrating Veganuary (pronounced vee-gan-you-airy) which, like other global do-good movements (Movember and Earth Hour come to mind), aims to raise awareness to a cause or concept with a mass following, in the hope that a) the idea will spread; and b) that the small taster* will inspire the participants to practice the movement in everyday life (not just for the selected time period). I didn't know too much about Veganuary (or veganism for that matter) until recently. Sure, I'd heard of it, and since one of our friends, Dani, is a vegan, I was exposed to the ideas and recipes that were purely plant-based. I was diagnosed with a dairy allergy...

Our next featured experience is crossing the Stubnerkogel suspension bridge. If I told you that you'd be crossing the highest suspension footbridge in Europe, at a mere -20 degrees Celsius, with close-to-Arctic winds blowing into your face, stinging your eyes and causing your nose to freeze, and your hands to lose feeling, would you do it? If I told you that the trip...

Travel is a strange thing. Every new place you visit leaves an impression on you. Sometimes, it's filled with hidden gems that blow you away, turning you into a renegade travel ambassador, selflessly promoting this new place you've found; and sometimes, you experience a massive let down that leaves you underwhelmed and with a bad taste in your mouth. Sometimes though, you visit a place that you didn't even know about; a place you stumble upon, and a place that paints its own picture in your canvas thoughts. Enter Bad Gastein. We were recently fortunate enough to be invited to an Instameet, hosted by @VisitBadGastein, in this town we hadn't even heard of. Grammars from all over Germany and Austria descended into the Alpine...

As originally seen on HuffingtonPost.com Hiding deep in the Dachstein mountains, not too far from Salzburg, is a small town that has the charm of something out of a fairytale. Picture a quaint town, surrounded by towering mountains, sitting beside a glasslike lake; the only thing you hear are trickles of ice-cold water running from a small stream into the deep blue body of water. As you look across the lake, the scene is broken up only by the sight of majestic white swans catching the first light. Could this be the most perfect place on Earth? There must have been fairytales born from this spot. If not, we might just have to write one. The town of Hallstatt is a UNESCO World...

Whilst on our journey, we’re aiming to spend our time and money on spectacular experiences, to be left with incredible learnings and memories, not tangible objects. This way, we’re sure to keep our lives light without additional luggage, but also be the change we want to see in the world. Our next featured experience is the Topdeck Travel tour, Trail to the Alps. Let's talk about group travel for a minute. First few things that came to mind (up until recently) were: hangovers, no sleep, strangers, tears, young just-left-schoolians, and awkward small talk. A short while ago, our idea of group travel was a fairly chaotic one, as we remembered our 7-day excursion...

    Creativity / 07.01.2016

We’re obsessed with Skillshare. We are genuinely and wholeheartedly in love with it. Little sick? Maybe. But it’s why we feel it necessary to write a whole series dedicated to the knowledge-sharing-and-soul-inspiring online platform. Imagine being able to break away from everything that’s using up your energy (your work, your friends, your responsibilities), and for [insert course duration] you’re locked inside a room with a passionate individual, as they walk you through their processes, their thinking, and they share all the little tricks they’ve learned in their profession, with you. Amazing! Then at the end of said course, there’s a little pot of gold with your name on it, inspiring you to pick up your [insert creative apparatus here], sending you into...

    Italy / 05.01.2016

Different from our usual just-the-two-of-us trips, we recently took the Topdeck Travel Trail to the Alps tour, for a group travel experience of a lifetime. 18 days, 8 countries, 14 cities, and a group of 29 strangers who have proven that the best part of travel is the people you meet along the way. The next city on our Trail to the Alps tour was Venice. There are few cities in this world that possess as much charm and character, as Venezia. Everything from the Venetian Gothic architecture, the ornate bridges (of which there are 409), and the mysterious tiny streets (which you will definitely get lost in), to the enchanting masks found at almost every corner, and the cute pasticcerias selling delectable Nutella-covered everythings. You'll walk...
