You have heard us preach about our “quit it all and sell everything” methodology to get you to travel around the world. I guess you don’t blame us – it is exactly what we did in order to get on the road and travel full time (like we have been doing since March 2015). But what if you’re not ready (or worse, able) to just pack up and go because you’re a homeowner? What if it’s not as easy as just selling the furniture, and packing a bag?     Before leaving, we were renting an apartment in Johannesburg, a mere 5 minute drive away from our offices, and as much as it was liberating to sell everything, pack-up, and...

This week’s post’s goal is to inspire a little minimalism. Although we don’t shout it from the rooftops, we are huge advocates for living a simple, yet meaningful life. Since having our epiphany and giving up our work-hard-to-buy-stuff-and-then-buy-more-stuff life back in Johannesburg, to live a save-save-save-then-spend-on-experiences kind of life, we’ve had to adjust, and I mean really adjust. Besides the obvious things like furniture and house cleaning goods (because, well, we simply have no house for them), there are a few things we have actively and voluntarily removed from our lives, simply because we find no use for them anymore. So whether you’re living a 9-to-5 life like we used to, or you yourself are a full time traveller, we...

Warning: this post may induce some serious need to give up animal products, and should be read with caution.   It’s been exactly 2 years and 1 week since I threw in the creamy, meaty towel, and made a decision to go vegan. You guys might remember that digital dinner party we had with friends back home, to celebrate my first stint of veganism, and to collaborate with 99 other creatives on the 31days project? Well, as 2018 has popped its head around the corner (happy new year btw!) with it comes another Veganuary (Movember’s animal-loving cousin, a.k.a. a January dedicated to trying the vegan lifestyle), which has led me to celebrate who I have become: a Travel Vegan. Now...

Chances are you’re looking for your next big European adventure. Maybe you’re interested in some cultural excursions through the ages. Or you’re super keen on trying some traditional cuisine (and well-crafted beer). Maybe you want to go somewhere beautiful, no matter what time of year it is. If any of those scenarios apply to you, we can assure you Prague will completely overwhelm you (in the best way possible). There is so much to do and see in this fine city, and even staying for a few nights is enough to make you fall in love and plan your next trip (#truestory – we’re already planning our return in 2018).       But we don’t feel like we need...

You can read our full Online Privacy Policy here.   After 26 months and 242 859km of non-stop travel, we have come home, aiming to package everything we’ve learnt into a practical and inspirational (and undoubtedly entertaining) guide for anyone and everyone wanting to do what we have done. In an attempt to give you a little taste of the course, we have created this blog series, entitled simply, “Things You Need To Know To Travel Around The World”. Our first piece in the series: Learning The Lingo   Perhaps a...

You guys may remember our Antipodes art project from a few months back…if you don’t, you can check it out here. Although we are still hoping to complete it (and publish it right here for your viewing pleasure), we are finding it incredibly difficult to retrieve pics from certain parts of the world *ahem, Ulan Ude*. But we will not fret! We shall continue and persevere (and hopefully complete our collection sometime soon), but in the meantime, we thought we’d use our own pics for another art project (and we’re not just talking about our Instagram pics), hoping to show how incredibly beautiful (and similar) our world is – at least in our humble opinion. Below is a collection of fantasy...

Let me introduce you to @desi.strolls aka Désirée Illsinger. Despite her French name, Desi (as we have come to calm her) is a proud German who has spent majority of her life living in grand German cities, such as Hamburg and Munich. She takes amazing photographs, writes (look out for her first self-published novel coming soon to a book store near you), and is not afraid to hop on a plane and travel to far off places solo…Vancouver, Paris, and New York come to mind.     We met Desi in late 2015 at an Instameet in Munich. We were coincidentally there ticking off number 10 from our Wanderlist, “have a few beers at Oktoberfest in München, Germany,” with our friend Ant,...

If you’re an Instagram-addict like us, and follow an array of travel adventure photographers like we do, chances are you’ve seen pictures of Banff National Park. Whether it’s reflection shots of the Lake Louise boat house, canoe point-of-view photos, or the epic and unmatched vista of the Ten Peaks almost brooding behind Lake Morraine, you’ve looked at photos of Banff and thought to yourself, “Ok, where on Earth is this magical place where the waters are so turquoise, and the mountain caps are so perfectly snow-capped, that it can just take all my money because I want to see it for myself?!” Well, at least that’s what we thought, and is exactly why we flew our butts over into Alberta,...

You guys might remember our first trip to the Dolomites and the little town of San Candido (if you don’t, you can check out the story here). We caught a train ride from Austria arriving in the small town, instantly falling in love with the area and the gorgeous mountain range (which we, to this day, mark as our favourite range in the world). So our love for the town is there. Our love for the mountains, and the lakes, and the cute chapels is there. Why on Earth would we not want to return, and share this gorgeous place with friends? Why would we not want to take the opportunity to hike around the infamous UNESCO World Heritage Site, the...

As you can imagine, we are traveling on a super tight budget. Any costs we can cut, we will do our best to do so. That being said, though, there are two things we spoil ourselves with in each and every city. Chanel, of course, tastes a local pastry (as it’s part of our Wanderlist), and I, well, I spoil myself by buying, tasting and photographing a local beer. Beer has always been a part of my life. I’m not saying that I’m a drunk, but I really do enjoy the nuances of beer tasting, and with over 30 countries under our belts, we had to unbuckle them somewhat after all the beer we’ve tasted on this journey. But it’s really difficult to say...
