Background

Together with Nedbank, South African Airways wanted to launch their new SAA Voyager miles credit and debit cards, creating a fun and entertaining advertising campaign that showcased all the cards’ benefits whilst showcasing popular destinations that the airline serviced.

Overview

Working closely with one of South Africa’s most innovative digital agencies, VML, @howfarfromhome were briefed to bring the advertising campaign work to life. With three incredible destinations (New York, London, and Mauritius) chosen by the agency and client, we were tasked to come up with “the ultimate itinerary” to showcase each region, with the new SAA Voyager cards as the enablers to every unique experience during the six month campaign. From sunset helicopter rides over New York City and High Tea at London’s famous Sketch, to undersea walking and island road-tripping in Mauritius, we planned, experienced, creatively directed and documented the entire journey, and then packaged all the content into a highly effect advertising campaign, propelling #VoyagerJourneys to became one of the most talked about content pieces of the year in the local market.
