27 Dec TRAVELIBRO: A NEW APP FOR TRAVELING STORYTELLERS
After spending nearly three years (wow, has it been that long!?) documenting all our travels, and all our adventures, and all the amazing people we’ve met, and places we’ve photographed, and putting it all on social media, one could say we are a little in love with it (in the most healthy way possible, of course). Social is where we go to interact with friends (it’s sometimes our only way, as friends are so far away), it’s where we go for inspiration (for trips, for photography, for our wedding attire – yes, that is very much on our minds), and it’s where we go to escape the real world, normally just before bed to watch yet another “Will It?” from Rhett & Link.
Where am I going with this?
Well, if you’re online as much as we are, when something new blossoms in the digital realm, best we get on it to suss it out. And suss out the new travel app, Travelibro, we did.
Travelibro aims to turn every traveller into a storyteller – it’s a place where every bit of your trip is captured and shared, chronologically, and on the go, to create digital ‘Journeys’ that you (and everyone in your circle) can relive and access at any time. From the view on the airplane (captured as a #Boomerang, as nothing beats a take-off Boom Boom), to the hotel you checked into (with your own personal star rating and review of said hotel), to all the places you discover on your trip (and the photos, videos, and side notes you capture during those experiences).
We currently have two Journeys on the app – the perfect 10-day itinerary if visiting Solta island in Croatia, and a 10-day winter adventure around Salzburg, Austria. What’s really fun (and why we love the app) is that if you have booked yourself, for example, a 10-day trip to Salzburg during winter, and have no idea of the itinerary you should follow (what to do, where to go, and most importantly what’s possible in 10 days), checking out our journey will teleport you there so that you can see what 10 days in Salzburg would actually be like. It’s not just a quick snap of a moment, or an expiring video. It’s the entire journey, day-by-day, stitched together to form one story.
Each profile page also holds a lot of information – you can add the countries you’ve been to, and what countries are still on your bucket list, and you’ll receive cute little badges as you reach traveling milestones – we are currently on ‘Nomad’ status. You can, of course, also see your current and past Journeys, all the rich media content you uploaded as separate pieces of content, and all the reviews you’ve given to the places you checked into.
Another thing we judge an app on, is the contributors and creators on it, and Travelibro certainly has some great travelling pros sharing their favourite stories on the app. In case you’re curious, below are some of our favourites who you can find on the app, and if you’re ready to take Travelibro for a test drive yourself (because nothing beats actually playing around with an app), you can download it here.
